Social Media Marketing

Amplifying your brand message

Step 3 - Social Media Mastery

It’s pretty much a given these days that your company should be on social media. However, there isn’t a one size fits all solution for everyone. Again it needs some thought based on your customer needs and unique brand message. Social media marketing can be great for finding and engaging old and new customers alike, but getting to them at the right time and in the right place can be a challenge. Thankfully, I am here to help you sort out this stage of your marketing too!

Features & Benefits

Social Media Marketing

1. Getting Started

Social Media can be a minefield to navigate at times, therefore it is a good idea to have a well thought out plan before you start. Here are the social media marketing steps I like to follow:

Thinking of diving straight into social media without a plan? I would’t recommend it! This is because it is easy to make mistakes on social meda, and people are very quick to jump on businesses, public figures and celebrities that do! It’s evolved as a place not only for people and companies to promote themselves, but also a place for them to be held to account. So it needs some thinking about first. I will approach it much like my SEO services, first by looking at factors such as your competitors, your customer personas (haven’t got one? Don’t worry I’ll help you with that too!), influencers etc to come up with a social media strategy that is unique to your company.

Once we know what we want to do with your social media, if you haven’t got them set up already, I will set up the accounts for you. It’s a good idea to also make sure your profiles are complete with company information, a clear logo, eye catching banners etc – I will do that for you too. Then we will be ready to start adding some content!

2. Social Media Content

My social media marketing strategy above will include information on the types of posts to create, best time of day, tone of voice etc – so now it's time to get started!

Regularly posting on your social media profiles is just as important as getting them set up, as people will very quickly switch off if you don’t. There is nothing more off putting than an out of date, very quiet Facebook or Twitter profile if you are hoping to find a company you can trust! Don’t let this happen to you. Also posting (the right type of content) regularly will help to increase your followers, the aim is to get people to engage with your posts via a like or share, which organically grows your audience. I can create and publish the posts for you at the right time of day and on the right platforms for your business (including finding and creating any graphics required). I will also respond to any questions or comments, based on an agreed plan between ourselves. This can all be part of a monthly service or I can give you the plan to get on with acting as a coach / mentor as needed.

Once all this is set up and you are posting regularly, how do you know if it’s working for you and a good use of your time? As part of my monthly service, I will look at the response level to your posts and separate out the ones that seem to work better than others in terms of sharing and comment levels. I will also look at time of day, clicks back to your website etc to find out which type of posts are best to keep doing as well as the ones which didn’t work so well. All this will increase your ongoing knowledge of what works best and what is best to spend your time on.

How much does social media marketing cost?

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely! The posts will be ghost written for you and published on your company social media accounts under your own company / brand name.

The answer to this depends. You can give me some stock customer service answers for frequently asked questions, and I will notify you if there are more complex queries to answer. If you prefer to answer all queries however, I will notify you when there is any question to answer and you can go ahead and do it yourself at a time that suits you.

Yes, that’s all part of the service! I will like comments and thanks them for sharing posts etc.

This can be tricky, but it is always adviseable to respond positively. If someone is unhappy with your service for example, I would respond with a can do, how can we help improve attitude? If the comment is public it is also important to respond publicly so that your followers can see you have practiced good customer service. The same goes for negative reviews. Unfortunately you can’t stop people posting negatively, but you can drown out the negative with the positive. If you have a specific problem with consistent trolls I can deal with these too, by blocking them and reporting as necessary.

This will be identified for you as part of the Social Media Strategy. I will take your ideal customer demographics and compare them to the known demographics of each platform, then make the decision which ones are best to spend the time on. For example if you predominately sell to corporate business people LinkedIn would be the best place to start, rather than Ticktok which has a much younger, more consumer based audience.

Again this depends on the strategy and the initial research I do for you to find out what your potential customers are prepared to tolerate with regards to frequency, type and scheduling of posts.

Whilst its true that younger millennials and generation z are so called ‘digital-natives’, i.e. they have grown up with social media and the internet, it is also important to have an experienced marketing person look over them. I have been in the industry for over 25 years and have a CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) Diploma. I have vast experience in creating marketing communications and strategies specifically for small businesses like yours, and that is what you pay for. I am quite happy for an intern / junior member of staff to post on social media, and I can act as the overseer / mentor as needed in this case.
